Blueprint for Just Transition
Engage Diverse Stakeholder Perspectives
Various groups in your community will feel the weight and possibilities of transition very differently. Gather, respect, and examine all perspectives to ensure that you create a long-term transition plan that all community stakeholders can support. Equitable collaboration depends upon diverse, inclusive, and active participation. Those on the ground and most impacted by the transition away from coal must be at the forefront of planning for what’s next in your community.
Below, nine different stakeholder groups are identified and examined regarding some of their concerns and ideas about transition. However, this list is by no means comprehensive, and every community is different. Use these ideas as a starting point, then add more stakeholder segments that are relevant to your community.
